Time Guitars

Headstock Heel Joint So there I was one day, a young lad, and I saw this lovely guitar in this guitar shop. I heard this interesting story, and I'm not exactly sure if it's true or not. Bits and pieces are, and I'll put together what I can. If anyone out there reading this has more info or pictures, send me a message.

So is the story of Time Guitars. They were a company that existed in Vermont, around the city of Burlington. They were a glorious company. It sounds as though they had few staff, but they were really quite amazing technicians.

At this point, I'll admit; these aren't the greatest pictures in the world. Once I get my own digital camera, I'll snap a few more...

Body Front Back Ok, so they had this company. Apparently they had a few "pro endorsements" and appeared to everyone who cared as though they were "just about to break into the big time." So they were making and selling these beautiful instruments, and every person who had one wanted to keep it.

It was time to make a play. They decided that it was time to get a factory-proper. So, they packed their bags and moved into an enormous warehouse apparently quite close to the Burlington International Airport. That'd be good for distribution.

Oh gee, look at that! As I understand it, they were in their new location for a small number of weeks, and then (before insurance was in place) the warehouse burned to the ground, taking all stock and supplies with it.

This day was a very sad day to me, and I'm not even sure when it was...

Oh yeah, click the pics for larger versions...

Now goes my plea:

If anyone knows anything about the events, please, drop me a line. I would love to know who was involved, what they did, what they're doing now, etc. I hope to turn this into a full-blown fan site. Also, pictures! If anyone can snap some nice pics of their Time gear, please send it along...

And on another note...

I've also been drooling lately... Interested in getting another amplifier for the collection; something a little more "boutique" I guess. As my pawn-shop searches have yet to turn up a Twin, I discovered another fine Vermont-based manufacturer of fine gear. These guys are still in business, though, so it's a lot easier to turn up a Maven Peal amplifier, but you may have to wait 'til yours gets built. Swing on by, it seems that they have some really cool ideas...
